Midway Pointe is located in the Garfield Ridge community, home to a strong base of retail and professional businesses. It offers numerous transportation options with the CTA bus and rail lines as well as its proximity to the Stevenson Expressway.
Within walking distance or easily accessible by bus, there is a Walgreen’s with a delivery or drive-thru pharmacy and grocery market. There are several restaurants, banks, currency exchanges, cleaners and specialty shops at the corner of 47th Street and Cicero Avenue.
There is a variety of shopping alternatives within the community including strip malls with family shopping destinations and local businesses. There are several medical centers near the site including one within walking distance on 47th Street, one block West of Cicero Avenue. The Southwest Family Health Center, provides affordable health care to all people regardless of income, lack of insurance, or immigration status.
Midway Pointe is diagonally located across from Hearst Elementary School with several parks nearby. Harriet Vittum Park is located just two blocks south. Three blocks north of Midway Pointe is Le-Claire/Hearst Park. The Chicago Park District hosts events at the Le-Claire/Hearst location including movie nights, day camps, and fitness classes. Le-Claire/Hearst Park also provides a series of walking trails.
The Salvation Army is located directly next to the apartment complex on 47th Street. They offer emergency assistance to those in need including financial and food & nutrition assistance. They also offer older adult visitation services and worship services. The Salvation Army thrift store is less than 1 mile southwest of the property.
